KPM Boardinghaus und Residences Berlin

KPM Boardinghouse & Residences Berlin

KPM "Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur" Berlin is one of the oldest manufactories in Europe. The Berlin factory, located in the heart of Berlin, has produced hand-made porcelain creations for over 250 years. As part of the consolidation of its production facilities in Berlin Tiergarten on the English street, the Royal Porcelain Manufactory has developed a unique and individual hospitality concept that expresses the high quality of the brand.

The Potsdam-based architects Axthelm Rolvien took the responsibility, in close cooperation with KPM, of developing the boarding house on 4 floors and the residential units on floors 5 to 7.

Notable features include an underground car park, a spa in the basement, an Asian fine dining restaurant on the ground floor and a KPM suite for events in the penthouse. As a general contractor, we were given 12 months construction time for on-site planning, and carried out the entire interior work as well as consultancy and support in project development. We oversaw the construction of 175 apartments and individual rooms, including rooms with a mobile kitchen, which provides the option of being closed by the guest upon request. This resulted in an extraordinary architecture with unique interior solutions at the highest level.
